Minimum Wage Increase Update - April 2026
Effective 1 April 2026 the minimum wage increased from $23.50 per hour to $23.95 per hour.
The starting out and training minimum wage increased from $18.80 per hour to $19.16 per hour.
90-Day Trial Period Update
Prior to 23 December 2023 only employers with 19 or fewer employees could utilise the 90-day trial period. It is now lawful for all employers to make use of the 90-day trial period when hiring new employees.
