Minimum Wage Increase Update
Effective 1 April 2024 the minimum wage will increase from $22.70 per hour to $23.15 per hour.
The starting out and training minimum wage will increase from $18.16 per hour to $18.52 per hour.
90-Day Trial Period Update
Prior to 23 December 2023 only employers with 19 or fewer employees could utilise the 90-day trial period. It is now lawful for all employers to make use of the 90-day trial period when hiring new employees.
